I like cooking, but what really pleases me the most from everything i do is making my baguettes, when they are hot right after i take them out of the oven whatever sandwich i make with them i seems like the best meal ever
Fresh home made bread is so delicious. Even with just butter its irresistible to me.
I wish I had time to bake lately.
The 5 Minute Baguette is a complete game changer.
Big bowl, 4g salt, then 240g flour, then 1g yeast, then 200g water; Mix it together with a spoon or whatever; cover and leave it 12h. Preheat to 480ºF and bake for 20 minutes.
I bake mine on a lightly-oiled baking sheet because the first time I didn’t have parchment paper and tried wax paper instead (with hilarious consequences).
Yes there are two secrets here, you have to let the yeast react with the flour for a couple of hours after you mix them, it has to grow double in size for sure and then in the oven put somewhere some water inside, the steam from the water will make them crispy on the outside
Looks more like ciabatta than a baguette
That’s class. Definitely trying this at the weekend. Thanks!

I don’t like 5 minute recipes. Giving the dough time is what is fun to me. And it tastes better. 5 minute baguette probably tastes heavily of yeast.
It takes 5 minutes to prepare but you leave it for 12 hours to rise.
You are correct, the dough needs some time to rest and grow after the mix
“Just butter” would be a great name for a local bakery specializing in bread.
“bakery specialising in bread” just looks so wrong
Well most of the bakeries near me specialize in cookies and brownies and cakes. If it’s not sugar heavy, you won’t find it in the bakeries near me. I thought that was most bakeries, so I specified. I guess that’s just a local thing for me.
I’ve seen an Irish youtuber that works in a bakery and talks a lot about cakes as well. I suspect it might be an Anglosphere thing.
In German and French, there’s Bäckerei and boulangerie for bread related stuff and some sweet wares like croissant or fruit tarts. But full on cakes you would get in a Konditorei or pâtisserie.
I would say that’s false advertising if the sign claims just butter but they in fact sell bread with butter.
Yeah, even with just butter and some cheese it’s delicious!
I’ve never managed to make good baguettes before. These look scrumptious.
See my other comment above. They’re really good.
I have never even tried to make a baguette. But if I’m ever going to make a bahn mi from scratch I will eventually need to.
They look so yummy and crispy. Congrats and bone apple tea!
Thank you 😊
Definitely agree fresh bread is the best, used to work at a sandwich shop and anytime I had to make bread I would always make my own to eat (what hooked me on BLT’s).
Are socks with sandals considered the shoes off or shoes on inside of a house though?
It depends where you are wearing them usually, if it’s only inside the house then it’s shoes off! 😂

Recipe??? My mouth is watering at rhe sight of those
Nothing difficult, you just mix half a kilo of flour a little bit of yeast, salt then pour some water which is not cold and then you leave the dough to rest and grow for about three to four hours, depends on the temperature, after that you make the dough into baguettes shapes, let it rest for fifteen minutes and then you put it in the oven for 30 to 40 minutes in 200 C, its better to put some water somewhere inside the oven because the steam makes them more crispy
Will attempt
Eh, I think you’re oversimplifying a bit there. I’ve made baguettes before with mixed success. It’s more than just eyeballing ingredients and guessing on time. There are ways to fold the dough to improve the texture and other techniques to improve the outcome. It’s definitely worth doing, though.
So i have to get into those details also?
I’d probably recommend starting with an actual recipe. Here’s one that looks decent.
Please dont be a smart ass here, i made baguettes numerous times in exactly the way i described and they were always perfect, its not something difficult, if you cant get it right its your problem

I saw “baguettes” in the title and thought “catloaf?”
No, it’s actual bread! 😂
