Peas are underrated as F…

I’m reminded of an old army joke:
“Hey sarge, what should I do if I step on a landmine?”
“That’s easy, private-- jump in the air and scatter yourself in to a hundred pieces.”

Those 80’s / 90’s remakes didn’t do much for me. Kinda lost too much of the original goodness IMO.
Last I checked, original Chipmunks songs and animations are still on YT.

Haha, he’s still rockin’ that style of hair / facial-hair, too!

But I can’t remember if I liked him as a reviewer. A little before my time, or something like that. Every once in a while I do like watching Siskel & Ebert on YT, though. Two smart, passionate guys who clashed well.
Sorry about that. Just…
Anyway, sometimes there’s a thing? (I’ve read through “Edelweiss…?”)
Fuck. Every time I read the news, it’s just worse. Like-- the primacy point of humanity is to COOPERATE, right?
But… NOOOOOOOO…!
Holy hell.
I would absolutely skip many a ‘medium-end,’ ‘high-end’ joint if I could munch nicely on that shizzle. oO
Reminds me a bit of that nice “Jap Che,” which I had on my phone a couple months ago, but still can’t figure out how the FLUFF to now transfer my images over to my PC, since some Android change, or whatever it was. Foof, bloody hell.
Funny how the two leads in Ghost World pass the original iteration of the test, yet are essentially little different than teenage dudes in terms of their personalities and discussions. Also funny how Scott McCloud, that famous teacher of comics technique, arguably fails the test with his semi-magnum opus The Sculptor.

The bar (and maybe its next level up) really is super-low, and yet it’s failed so often.
Meanwhile, I really need to find a Bechdel work that I can dig in to. The last two attempts involved books about her dysfunctional family, but I found them both pretty morbidly dry. And not with that Morrissey / Daria type of lively humor lurking underneath…

I meant the kind of tags at the bottom of Piefed posts
Yeap, that was my understanding as well.
Wish there were different names for the two things.
Good point. Maybe “user-tagging” works when a distinction is needed. “Instance-tagging, category-tagging, user-tagging, in-post tagging vs tagging-field tagging…” oh dear!

Because the tags weren’t citing categories, but… instances and users? So maybe treated differently in-system?

This may or may not be of any use, but last time I experimented upon such, I found that tags (#) upon specific categories quickly showed up on Mastodon. I recall it working either near-instantly or after a couple minutes, FWIW.

Explain…?

Except that various ISP’s have been tracking such things for years, sometimes with very hard outcomes for torrenting users.
I don’t know why Anna’s got involved in music, anyway. This was always going to be the approximate outcome, and it arguably wasn’t needed, anyway. Last I checked, one could simply download YT, Spotify material etc with a tool or two, easy-peasy. Why not leave such a hot-button issue alone…?
Now, if Anna’s goes down, then a bunch of other material is lost that has vastly lesser (or zero) copyright issue. Some of that stuff I’m not sure you can find anywhere else online other than (maybe) torrents, or the equally-shaky LibGen.

There are couple free versions for Android (and I would guess, Apple too).
Lone Wolf Saga was adapted from what were originally books, I believe. There’s even a sequel series, I think. Choice Games, (i.e. the one with Ranger saga, Wizard saga, Thief saga etc) is also great, with some seriously impressive writing.
There are a couple others on my phone I could scrounge up if anyone’s interested.

If I understand correctly, the classic dictator approach is to appoint relatively competent underlings in positions of power, as long as they aren’t real threats, with most of their aggression spent punching down or squabbling amongst themselves.
By contrast, the idea here seems to be in appointing bumbling nitwits at said positions, such that after they make fools of themselves, they can then be blamed for this or that and ejected like a used diaper.
Life herded me towards being a loner for a couple key reasons, and I’ve grown to accept it and even like it across the years, but I also recognise that such necessarily limits me in certain unhealthy ways as an inherently social creature (Homo sapiens), and that’s it’s bad not to be involved with other naked apes, one way or the other…
Indeed, I probably wouldn’t trust a complete loner, nor someone who needed to be with other people ~99% of the time in order to feel ‘okay.’
I’m now overseas, so enjoying my time adventuring than being on me phone.
Oh, you naughty thing!
Anyway, good to hear, and thanks for adding on.
We are more-or-less ‘good’ in the sense of every other animal, and that’s fine. No angels nor sinners across all those fellow lifeforms. Just life doing what it do. And that goes back millions of years for us Homos.
Now introduce capitalism, property, and hegemony, and for sure, there’s an argument that we’re the greatest spawn of evil that ever walked this ball of mud. Problem…?
Sideways-related, but I was just commenting on Erich von Stroheim’s classic Greed film. It was originally like 9hrs, but only 2hrs were rescued, at thought presumed to exist for many decades.
Later, in the early aughts (2000’s), a bunch of images and clips were found, leading to the creation of a restored 4hr version.

Oh, c’mon now… we’re naked apes, we are. We’re naturally gonna react in all KINDS of different ways, completely outside of “Starfleet.”
Suggestion to get over yourself upon that nonsensical, @[email protected].
