I see nothing wrong with this. People protest the way they want or are able to and looks like this drew attention at least here.

I replied to another comment with similar stuff but, whether or not this helped anyone we can never truly know.

It did not help the people in the center that day presumably because they were not released. Who knows if they were aware of what was happening outside and how they would have or did feel about it happening.

At the very least, this raised awareness and showed that people are willing to speak out publicly against fascism regardless that the government is threatening any and all who speak or act against them.

It does absolutely nothing except deluding themselves into believing they aren’t complicit in creating this situation.
And it’s a great free fun activity for the weekend.

I agree a little. Not doing nothing, sadly the people in there still suffer and a bit of awareness is raised.

What these people show most I think is that it’s okay to not be afraid of these assholes.

Some people are too scared to leave their homes, or speak out, or go to a demonstration for fear of being gunned down in the street or injured in some way. Or put on a list for targeting later on.

These people are being brave in the face of fascism even it was just being silly, the retribution they are putting themselves at risk for is very real.

I’ll copy my reply to another one who was so afraid of risking something.

Since forever people of the world have protested and rioted.
And this against regimes and ruthless dictators that make your orange look like a joke.
They 100% knew they would be shot at, maybe tortured if arrested.
They did it anyway, since they’re not absolute pussies and an embarrassment like your pathetic population.
Glad you’re finally admitting you’re cowards, not that we didn’t know already.

Maybe they could’ve learned from history

So the idea is that people should not have fun while there are terrible things in the world? Especially the people trying to improve the situation somewhat? Am I getting that right?

At least they’re doing something. “Leftists” sit here arguing why concentration camps are a good thing.

What are they doing besides completely destroying the reputation of anti-ice protests?

If someone shoves a dildo up their ass in front of an ICE detention center you count that as “better than staying home”?
