Kind of but also not really. Orban was against taking a massive EU loan to buy American weapons to give to Ukraine. And Orban was for re opening cheap Russian gas.

Both moves benefit the EU more than the US which actively worked against these things. But Orban was playing so many sides at one that basically everyone except the Europeans rooted for him.

With Orban gone the EU might very well destroy itself in a debt trap against Russia. But who knows.

Mainstream approval is indeed important to win elections. That is why the Democrats lost the election. AOC is doing everything she can to prevent the status quo from moving to the left. She’s the bullwark keeping the Liberal Democrats safe from criticism because if she takes the popular leftist positions, the centrists will be the next targets.

Israel has a large french colonizing demographic who hold French passports. They don’t live in France and are living in Israel but they can still vote in France. So they vote for the Israel party in France which serves Israel instead of France and does stuff like this.

I applaud the energy to want do something but people should consider whether they are spending their energy effectively.
