The fiery dispute centered on a proposal that would have allowed agents to enter homes without judicial warrants

An internal dispute over how to carry out Donald Trump’s deportation agenda grew so heated that officials had to “clear the room,” according to a new report.

The argument unfolded during a February 2025 meeting attended by Rodney Scott, the commissioner of Customs and Border Protection, and Caleb Vitello, who was then the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Scott and his deputies were advocating for a “master plan” — approved by then-Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem — that called for establishing a National Incident Command Center, which would tap the resources of ICE, CBP and the Pentagon, NBC News reported.

The plan was part of an effort to dramatically ramp up deportations to 1 million per year, lining up with the president’s promise to carry out the largest illegal immigrant expulsion program in U.S. history.

Anyone comes in my home without a warrant won’t be walking out. Or at least the first five or six won’t.

Take that for what you will.

Shotguns with 1oz slugs transfer enough force that even if they hit armor capable of stopping it, it can cave in a chest cavity and leave someone slowly suffocating.

Edit: oops, ment to post this in the othet thread about firearms I was talking in and not here. Oh well I’ll leave it since there’s no true delete in the fediverse.

Unfortunatly for people without the background of somebody like you, that will be loved by ICE. Saves them from a lot of paperwork, before shooting them.

They’ll all be branded heroes while his entire family and friend circle is harassed endlessly, sometimes for fun.

You have a point. I’m a natural born citizen, no criminal history, the “right” skin color, and a few other accolades that wouldn’t make me the ideal target. Which is exactly why if I ever AM a target I can say with 100% certainty the above action is the correct one. If I’m being stormed, the likelihood of anyone in my home at the time surviving to tell their side is negligible enough to be nil, so time to go out swinging.

      lol ok tough guy

If you have a family and you were expecting ICE to come after you, you’d probably be most likely to see your family again if you fight it legally, instead of trying to shoot your way out. Now, if you have nothing left to lose, then that could be a different story.

You think the fascists literally kicking in your door to take you and/or your family away is anything other than “nothing left to lose” territory?

We are in emergency mode and fascists kicking in your door without a warrant and disappearing you should be met with due force. However, my personal calculus is that we’re not at end stage fascism where they’re just shooting people in the street, and if the options are:

          • survive and work with my family/lawyers/whoever to try to get out and see my family again

          or

          • go out guns blazing, kill a few home invaders but 100% also get killed,

my choice is the former. There are others who would rather stand up right now and meet their end, but at least they pushed back right now. I’m not at that point yet.

Side note: isn’t this insane that we’re even having these kinds of conversations now? Shit’s real bad.

Due force is exactly what you ridiculed the other guy for saying he’d use, and if you won’t meet a home invader with what you call due force then your “should” here loses a lot of weight. The rest of your comment is answering something I didn’t say; your limits are your own.

But yes, it’s bananapants fuckballs insane that this is relevant conversation in America right now.

              should

I’m saying that in a theoretical sense, everyone would like to think they would use their firearms to defend their family against a bunch masked men working for a fascist regime. The reality is much more difficult when it comes to how much you have to lose. Everyone is different I guess.

Right now, in May 2026, there is due process for most people. That’s obviously still a huge erosion to the Constitution and cause for emergency, as they are just continuing to go down that route, BUT I believe there is still a semblance of due process. All the hopeless doomers don’t understand the day to day processes are still going, and the news is amplifying the cases where due process has not been followed. Again I’m not saying that’s “fine”, just that if I were personally disappeared right now, I’m not going out guns blazing in that moment because my chances of seeing my family again are higher if I go peacefully.

Now, if we have this same conversation again in May 2027, after they’ve cancelled midterms, Republicans illegally remained in power, and they go full end stage fascism, that would be a different set of circumstances and appropriate responses.
