The fiery dispute centered on a proposal that would have allowed agents to enter homes without judicial warrants

An internal dispute over how to carry out Donald Trump’s deportation agenda grew so heated that officials had to “clear the room,” according to a new report.

The argument unfolded during a February 2025 meeting attended by Rodney Scott, the commissioner of Customs and Border Protection, and Caleb Vitello, who was then the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Scott and his deputies were advocating for a “master plan” — approved by then-Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem — that called for establishing a National Incident Command Center, which would tap the resources of ICE, CBP and the Pentagon, NBC News reported.

The plan was part of an effort to dramatically ramp up deportations to 1 million per year, lining up with the president’s promise to carry out the largest illegal immigrant expulsion program in U.S. history.

You think the fascists literally kicking in your door to take you and/or your family away is anything other than “nothing left to lose” territory?

We are in emergency mode and fascists kicking in your door without a warrant and disappearing you should be met with due force. However, my personal calculus is that we’re not at end stage fascism where they’re just shooting people in the street, and if the options are:

      • survive and work with my family/lawyers/whoever to try to get out and see my family again

      or

      • go out guns blazing, kill a few home invaders but 100% also get killed,

my choice is the former. There are others who would rather stand up right now and meet their end, but at least they pushed back right now. I’m not at that point yet.

Side note: isn’t this insane that we’re even having these kinds of conversations now? Shit’s real bad.

Due force is exactly what you ridiculed the other guy for saying he’d use, and if you won’t meet a home invader with what you call due force then your “should” here loses a lot of weight. The rest of your comment is answering something I didn’t say; your limits are your own.

But yes, it’s bananapants fuckballs insane that this is relevant conversation in America right now.

          should

I’m saying that in a theoretical sense, everyone would like to think they would use their firearms to defend their family against a bunch masked men working for a fascist regime. The reality is much more difficult when it comes to how much you have to lose. Everyone is different I guess.
