2·4 days agoperhaps your subjective experience is not the same as mine, and similarly, what I’ve experienced is not as universal as I hoped and my joking little comment about what it’s like to get unusual feedback doesn’t land with you - or anyone perhaps on this forum
and thats OK. My apologies if it didn’t resonate, but also I don’t think either of us will get any more out of bickering.

And I worked in art criticism for a national newspaper for which I won a journalism award lol

4·4 days agoI slightly misused it, my bad. It’s usually used in context of “it doesn’t matter” - ie I meant “criticism matters” but you’re right that I didn’t use it strictly.according to the dictionary definition.
I probably just meant “immune” but wasn’t thinking deeply about it.

infinite jest is half footnotes, which are at the back of the book, which is part of the “joke” of the book, being based around extreme academia.

0·2 months agoI read Tarot as a mild hobby - I love collecting decks and paraphernalia and then using them. But for me it’s like any other creative impetus randomizer machine (scenes from a hat in improv, the artists way, oblique strategies…) - you pull a series of images and then talk about how it makes you feel.
it’s not spiritual at all for me.

it’s truly a masterpiece of perspicuousness
