I wish it wasn’t rare because this guy is everywhere and i am tired of him. Gives me bad vibes and always did. Probably going to be some damning allegations on him in the future and I’d put my money on that

I doubt that as he was researched by gossip factories for a very long time by now. If anything, his initial career wasn’t any prominent for a very long time before he was noticed by big players. That period of prolonged irrelvance, I think, is what may help him to stay humble and overcome the usual corruption by money and fame many stars succumb to.

But yeah, as this one rare guy in Hollywood who is both good and not anyhow problematic, he is like the IKEA of interior design, to the point I can’t help but to feel blind to each individual performance of his, bored even, for they all inescapably blend together. It takes time to let his previous persona to wither off before I can really see him in another role. With him acting in so much productions in parallel, it’s hard.

I mean for a while he was cast almost exclusively as “guy who betrays the MC/is a traitor in some way” until Disney picked him up.

Actually maybe that was just Prospect.

But anyways yeah I kinda felt that way at the beginning but he has stood up time and again as an all around good person. I think he’s a good egg.

totally irrational. PP is hella based: progressive, socialist, agnostic, ally, woke, humanitarian, etc. you may not like his acting but by all appearances he’s a pretty well-rounded wholesome human being, so far as successful professionals within our economic paradigm come.

You are accusing somebody of some pretty horrendous crimes with absolutely no evidence simply because you personally have randomly decided you don’t like them.

It was all satire before too, it was a caricature of itself. So not much has changed?

The headline is a bit misleading when they’ve said they plan to relaunch it within a few weeks. For now, the site is still all Alex Jones.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Onion

The Onion is an American digital media company and newspaper organization that publishes satirical articles on international, national, and local news. The company is currently based in Chicago, but originated as a weekly print publication on August 29, 1988, in Madison, Wisconsin.[1][3] The Onion began publishing online in early 1996. In 2007, they began publishing satirical news audio and video online as the Onion News Network. In 2013, The Onion stopped publishing its print edition and launched Onion Labs, an advertising agency.[4][5] The Onion was then acquired three times, first by Univision in 2016, which later merged The Onion and its several other publications into those of Gizmodo Media Group.[6] This unit was sold in 2019 to Great Hill Partners, forming a new company named G/O Media.[7] Then, in April 2024, G/O Media sold The Onion to Global Tetrahedron, a firm newly created by former Twilio CEO Jeff Lawson, which revived the print edition in August that year.[8][9]

No Wikipedia entry for either Jeff Larson or “Global Tetrahedron”. Twilio does have one though: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twilio

Twilio Inc. is an American cloud communications company based in San Francisco, California, which provides programmable communication tools for making and receiving phone calls, sending and receiving text messages, and performing other communication functions using its web service APIs.

Doesn’t look Microslop related at that level, at least.

Jeff Larson is a big fan of The Onion and saved it from dying. After being forced to sell the first time, they had to tone down a lot of the articles and it got pretty meh. Then this guy created a company referencing a long-running Onion joke, bought it, and gave them free reign again. Like totally hands off, it’s the employees who decide what to publish

I’ve been reading The Onion since the early 2000s and it got BETTER under his ownership. Back to their roots.
