The one thing that doesn’t make sense to me about this is why wouldn’t they plant evidence that the assassin was a leftist or at least a liberal? Wouldn’t that make more sense if the goal was to increase the odds of Trump’s victory? Though it’s possible that they just didn’t bother or tried to but were too incompetent. Either way, I’m not going to say for sure if it was staged or not until we get definitive evidence, but it is plausible.

Leading up to the election, Christian fundie social media spaces were stuffed with bible verses (Leviticus and Revelations) and commentary about whether earblood was A Sign. So now they’re shifting the narrative from Trump’s being annointed by god to being the outright antichrist? Even when his supporters seem to be distancing themselves, you can see he’s still the most important person in the world to them. It’s so frigging weird.

Two things stand out that scream staged.
The photographer were ushered into position just under the president right as the US flag was lowered into position in order to get the iconic photo of him with arm raises surrounded by secret service and the flag.
Also somehow the official whiteboard photographer caught a pic of the bullet in mid flight just a foot behind his head
I know journalists like to go to war zones and such but running towards the target of a shooting with no protective gear is not gonna happen. They also just kind of shimmied into position… There wasn’t any real panic

The more important point you’re missing is the kakistocracy itself. If this was some planned op then we would hear about it from any one of the many people Trump has fired or stiffed.
There are much simpler explanations which need to be considered first, such as Trump’s disregard and disdain for any previous campaign promises coming into conflict with elements of his base who actually believed him enough to feel betrayed.

The shooting was definitely real. The furthest down this conspiracy rabbit hole that I’m willing to go is entertaining the idea that the bloodied ear could have possibly resulted from colliding with SS hip mounted service weapon when he was “tackled” for cover.

It was an obvious and clumsy hoax from the moment it happened. It was so obvious, that even MAGA decided to back off, and let it die down. Normally they’d be screaming about it every chance they got, but it went silent within a week.
Trump tried to bring it up a few times during speeches and such, trying to get sympathy, but nobody picked it up, because they don’t want to shine a light on it. The dumbest MAGA motherfuckers bought it, but NOBODY else did. And now even MAGAs are finally admitting that it was a hoax, demonstrating that the whole thing is finally starting to come apart.
And if it was a hoax, then blowing off the head of that scummy MAGA firefighter in front of his entire family was MURDER! So who greenlit this operation? Who planned it? Who supervised it? Who knew about it before, and after? Because ALL those people are on the hook for First Degree Murder charges.
Does this include Biden? Since he controled the secret service that let this happen? No way this could be a conspiracy without him being in on it. Even if the secret service went behind his back, no way he wouldn’t be able to investigate such a fuckup and expose the conspiracy.

This was just another incompetent MAGA operation, that barely came off, and didn’t have nearly the result they expected. They though America would be so outraged at an attack on our beloved president, that we would come together and vote for him on a landslide.
Instead, there was overwhelming disappointment that we didn’t get to see his onhead explode on TV, and so they had to go with their first plan to steal the election by flipping votes.

Yeah, that’s pretty much the story. Why would you be surprised? This is MAGA, that’s their normal level of virtuosic incompetence.
As for the Secret Service, don’t give them too much credit. Their best work is done in advance, eliminating threats before they manifest. But when they do have an actual direct attack on POTUS, their record isn’t really that great. Reagan? Shot. Ford? Poor aim, not SS, twice. JFK? Shot. And then you go back to the old ones, like Teddy Roosevelt getting shot and giving his speech anyway.
I can’t think of a single assassination attempt that was thwarted on the scene by the Secret Service. Even if they did, those incidents are outnumbered by their many failures.
Don’t forget, they also critically wounded one MAGA, and literally blew the head off another MAGA. An independent investigation is called for.
Putting aside that you are comparing the secret service from 45+ years ago vs today. A lot of the time when they do their job, you will never know. How many times did someone with a gun see agents guarding the approach they wanted to use and turned around, no one ever knowing? If there was an officer guarding the roof as there should have been, chances are we never hear of this incident.
Good thing only the secret service have guns, and no other group or individuals could possibly be hired outside of the government

I’ve thought about it too and have concluded that the shooter they the got to take the fall was more than willingly to eat a lead sandwich for trumpy. He had a reputation for being the weird conservative kid at school. He had experience shooting long range rifles but it was said he wasn’t that good either. The shooter was apolitical from my understanding. He searched for many politicians and his choice of Trump was not due to some ideology but convenience. Trump was holding a rally closest to him.

I enjoy the occasional conspiracy theory content for entertainment - it’s fascinating psychology to me. If I could get a PhD in it, I could do a 200-page thesis this weekend.
Between this and ol’ neck-hole, the T voters started off really just salivating ready to get out their guns and start mowing down anyone left of alt-right Rwanda-style. When the obvious profile of “nut with a gun” pointed the finger back at people like them with mental health issues and guns, it forced a lot of what it normally forces - some sort of delusion of “DeepState-CIA-Massad-FBI-Unilever-SCJohnsonWax-Soros wanted (insert name here) dead because of (insert batshit crazy thing here).”
They have such a level of group-think and us-vs-them bias that it’s genuinely incomprehensible that someone “on their team” could do anything bad to anyone. Self-reflection and wondering things like “oh…should we have gun regulation?” is tantamount to self-castration to them. That’s not an exaggeration.
As a group, under-educated rural voters that trend towards conspiracy mindsets (for 20-40 years, long before MAGA was a thing) have spent so long gaslighting themselves into thinking that nothing bad can happen IRL with no conspiracy behind it unless it fits into their “when do we get to use the guns?” Turner Diary (which was rope, but that’s not important) genocidal moment, nothing else is possible. Only conspiracies and the terrible atrocities of liberals happen. Nothing else. Ever.

It all depends on how one uses the theory. It’s good to consider alternative ideas. It’s just when you set yourself on believing one absolute that you have problems.
A friend of a friend studies the spread of conspiracy theories. A while back (during the first Trump admin, IIRC) I was talking to them and they mentioned that there are pretty much just as many conspiracies on the left as on the right. The big difference is that the left doesn’t have Fox News (the most widely watched TV news in the US) amplifying their conspiracy theories.
The only evidence you need that its staged?
There’s no fucking way a 78 year old man is getting shot and not lying on the floor in a puddle of blood, piss and shit immediately after
