I guess nowadays it’s “UNC” huh?

But yeah. Judging by people I know and co workers , no one will be using search in a couple years. Gonna be a bad time.

Also I’m curious how many folks on this instance are even under 35! They may not have ever experienced non corporate internet …

Then they’re using “boomers” wrong. Boomers were born between 1945-1965. Has nothing to do with personality, or tech knowledge.

The most AI-pilled people I know tend to be older, honestly.

Let’s not “blame the kids” for problems they have no responsibility in creating.

If they’re using AI services and big corporate social media all day, it’s because that’s the world they were sucked into by the Fuckerbergs of the world.

Rather than just complain about it, let’s do our best to build & encourage tools, services, and marketing campaigns that appeal to Gen Z and help them discover they don’t have to accept the slop being shoved in their face.

Eh. I work at a university with a couple of student employees and according to them a significant number of their peers run basically every through they have through AI. Like you ask someone their opinion on something and they start clacking into Chat GPT for the answer.

Certainly agree! But outside of a few interns a year that I can try to guide the right way, what am I gonna do? Hold a seminar to teach people who to be tech literate in the modern world ? No one would attend…

Really, its all up to the parents. And from parents ive seen…its not looking good.

We would need a billion dollar marketing campaign to educate people away from the zuccs and muskys.

I don’t know what that means. Virtually everyone who uses a “search engine” uses Google which now pushes AI Overviews hard. So whether it’s Google or ChatGPT… 🤷🏻‍♂️

As internet search gets worse and worse (not helped by companies taking normal words as their name) I see my self using AI search more and more. It’s now once a month.

It comes with an answer, I have to ask for a link, I go to the link, can’t find that answer, have to ask again, etc…

Simple questions become a total waste of energy and time… and you still don’t get the wiser.

And we can call them dumbfucks, because they never learned how to think.

Seriously, the stuff schoolteachers are saying about modern AI-dependent kids and teenagers is about as troubling to me as climate change.

I’m 32 and grew up on the internet before corporate internet, I think the age cutoff is a bit younger than you think, probably closer to 25

I should start working AI chatbot brainrot-isms into my common parlance just to try and kill it with cringe.

somebody states an obvious and passing observation: “Gpt is this true??” They say they want to do something: “Wanting to do something is a bold move. There’s a bit of mystery, a bit of science, and a lot of patience involved! The fact that you’re willing to try it already puts you ahead of most people. Here’s a simple, realistic plan to get you there”

Think, we could kill it like how we kill every trend or common societal tradition
