It probably will, for some people, at least until Valve releases an ARM-powered Deck running full SteamOS.
I think Android is the weak link here. Who wants to use an increasingly locked down operating system?

They control all 3 branches of the federal government, so I warmly welcome them to pass a law or ruling that makes partisan gerrymandering illegal.
If fighting fire with fire is what’s needed to make them feel like it’s a problem, then so be it.

Honestly, I have not seen anyone who values art “be ok with” generative AI.
The only people who think it is even remotely cool are lazy programmers with no friends.

But even that isn’t really enough…we need laws on training data.

Tasted like it came out of the wrong hole.

Workplace theater comes to the shitter.

Remember folks, age verification is personal identity verification.

I’m gonna disagree with you. I think it’s only gotten dumber with things like Robinhood and communities like wallstreetbets.

This stock market is so unbelievably detached from reality it’s not even funny anymore. It’s all “meme stocks”.
At least back in the day there was the thinnest guise of this stuff having some semblance of a connection to the ground-level economics of business. (You know, old fashioned stuff like employing people to make products and selling them for a profit.) My parents generation could at least be forgiven for believing that it was driven by serious people making logical decisions about money…
But today it’s just so clearly based on vibes, algorithms, hype, and an unhealthy dose of total randomness that you might as well get into cryptocurrency or take your paycheck to the casino.
The whole thing stinks. It’s like one giant ponzi scheme fueled by ketamine and hopium.

I get it. Spike definitely comes from that lineage of manga/anime characters like Arsene Lupin III and Ryo Saeba who oscillate between 20th century coolness and total goofiness depending on the needs of the moment. Just like Lupin, things don’t usually go his way, and even when he does a good job he’ll still usually get fucked over.
Still, I think that Bebop is a must watch!

Why spend money making propaganda when you can make slopaganda on the cheap?
Plagiarism and creative exploitation on an unprecedented industrialized scale.

For me, it’s gotta be none other than Cowboy Bebop!
Cowboy Bebop seems to be the anime that transcends the genre more than almost anything else, and appeals to people even if they don’t typically gel with more tropey anime. I really think that Bebop is a triumph of the medium and one of the best television shows period, so I really can’t recommend it enough to everyone!
Plot twist: he’s a gynecologist

Oops I don’t care!
None of these AI kids are gonna know how to do anything anyway.
For the most part you should be able to see things across apps and servers.
For example, I’m logged into fedia.io, which runs the Mbin software, and this thread is on lemmy.world, running the Lemmy software.
It can take a while to wrap your head around all this stuff, but personally I find it really cool to be part of an infinitely scalable reddit alternative. 😄
Welcome!
Keep in mind there’s no algorithm pushing things on us here, so it’s best to seek out and subscribe to as many communities as you have interests. :) If there’s a niche community on Reddit that you miss having here, consider making it yourself. Also, the most you can post and comment the better!
One thing that’s nice about the Fediverse compared to corporate social media is that there is far less bullshit, fewer ancient reposts by people pretending to post original content, almost no AI slop, etc… It’s really nice, in my opinion. Reddit certainly has a larger quantity of stuff, but I think modernly the quality has become quite low.
Nice to have you.
Why? You really don’t see any difference between training an AI model off of public domain, creative commons and licensed data, and corporations like Meta and Anthropic pirating millions of books without even so much as consent from the original authors?
I wouldn’t have a problem with AI if it was trained legitimately, but sadly working people are being ripped off by massive corporations on an unprecedented scale.
Yeah, we can tell…
