I like to remember that America recovered from the robber barons and monopolists of the Guilded Age. It’s unfortunate that the thought rides tandem with the fact that it took a major world conflict and America seizing control of the world economy, and the America that emerged was really only great for white people. But maybe modern progressivism is less racist than it was and the next social revolution will be class based instead of race based. A guy can try to hope, a little bit as a treat.
You don’t realize tech has changed things. They have total informational awareness, to the point they can turn a mother again their own kids. There is no bottom to this, unless we stop it, which we aren’t.
