He does it because it works. His rabid supporters are highly invested in supporting him. They need to keep supporting him or else they have to see themselves as idiots. So they need something, anything to dismiss any bad reports on him. They are extreme sufferers of confirmation bias. He gives them a reason (fake, rigged, woke agenda, etc) and they use it mentally to dismiss the evidence they can’t handle. And then their perception of the lack of any ‘real’ such evidence allows them to keep believing his bs. It’s wild really how people are pulled in like this, and yes it is stupidity and lack of education - but we really need to understand it more to figure a way out of this nightmare.

I guess my parents are nearly boomers but a little too old, they were kids in wwii. But I think they would also advise people to make friends and use such contacts to try get a job. Yes they went though times where you could walk into a store and get a job that day, but they also went through some shitty stuff. Moreover, they’re not idiots and know times change.
Not a boomer, but you’d probably classify me as one. I could get a job quickly - but only because I have lots of contacts. And I can and have helped younger people with those contacts. So the trick is to make friends with lots of people, even us older folk. Maybe that comes across as creepy, but I don’t mean it that way. It’s just how things work. It worked that way in my youth too, just not as much.
It’s going to imprint on you. You will have a hard time getting it to go back wild.
