Recognising you have a problem is the first and biggest step IMO. Even outside of the realm of mental health, really: the difference between a moral person and an amoral one is often simply the recognition/blindness to objective/unarguable rights and wrongs. Once you recognise that, the change usually comes by itself (and if the brain isn’t cooperating, there’s medication for that!), but you gotta want it. In the case of morals, you have to be proud enough that you won’t allow yourself to be a lesser man/woman, or pious enough not to warrant God’s hatred, or both.
