Palantir is just the high visibility part of this iceberg. They are just saying out loud what Bezo and Ellison and Zuckerberg and Elon are thinking. They are testing the waters, and nobody on the planet is pushing back. Not the usa, not the uk and not the eu.

That’s untrue. Both the UK and France are looking into developing their own proprietary national software solutions in order to separate from the US tech ecosystem. There’s been extensive reporting on that. Whether or not they get there, we’ll see, but I think it’s eminently fair to say they recognize the danger of being in bed with these motherfuckers.
Eh, to replace it with their own slow creep to authoritarianism.
As a Brit, we’re on the same slippery slope as the USA, we’re just slower to innovate.
There’s some truth to that for sure, but Donald has made it abundantly clear that it’s in our allies’ national interest to disentangle their national secrets and private data from US firms.
It’s been interesting watching the UK in particular, with your parliamentary system still effectively devolving into a shitty duopoly like we have here. I hate to think about where your country will be in the next 10-15 years, but even on this side of the pond it’s clear the biggest target is privatizing your health care system.
Couldn’t agree more. It’s just a shame that the UK has a long proud tradition of making big problems out of smaller problems.
For the same reason so many people use GenAI instead of writing their own shit.
They lack imagination, creativity, and are too fucking lazy to think up something cool.
Nice of Palantir to be so visible, as opposed to the high towers of invisible overseers of the past decades. Gettem.
Because they have no actual ideas…
It’s basically like Chad/Wojak memes, but for boomers
Because of lowtax, the framing, Gandalf, or something I missed?
