Being a little hyperbolic but similar outcome without environmental consequences
The currency is just there so it doesnt become lopsided. If you can do only one of them then the game stops working
I’m not down voting you, cause I think down voting because you think people are wrong is dumb. That being said, how on earth is a fake credit system so people play both sides of a silly internet game about connecting w/ people and celebrating humanity anything like the harms of crypto? 😅
Crypto is harmful because it burns tons of resources (if using proof of work) and because it enables crime and grifting. Neither of those apply to this?
No currency enables criminal and grifting, crypto just has extra environmental harm steps.
Not saying it does apply to this. I didn’t mean to shit on this. Just a little hyperbolic, the credit system prevents abuse but any monetary system is susceptible to abuse if enough demand.
Crypto isnt just a currency, its an investment vehicle and has much higher anonymity than any regular currency. In practice it does facilitate crime and grifting much more often. Being digital and having much more anonymity its ideal for paying for illegal goods and services, and being an anonymous investment vehicle its an ideal choice for things like pump and dump scams and insider trading. Its not actually particulatly useful as a currency because its so volatile, so it almost never gets used for paying for stuff unless the anonymity is a requirement
I think you might be wildly overestimating the complexity of the currency system in the game. You can have 6 credits total. You earn them by answering questions. You cab spend them on asking questions. All it does it make people engage with both parts of the game. I see zero ways for that mechanic in it’s current form to be abused 😅
But if I’m answering questions isn’t that proof of work? 😅
(Also yeah you’re very right on the 0 ways to abuse part wait till the blackmarket for people to ask reliable questions from actual people come up, that’s when the secondary and tertiary markets crop up)
Yes, you could describe it that way, but its not crypto. Not in any meaningful sense. There is no monetary value, there is no blockchain. Doing work for in game currency doesnt make something crypto; again, thats literally any in game currency.
I can’t tell if you’re being serious about the rest, I can only hope thats sarcasm 😅
