You don’t like it. It means the majority opinion. Reason beyond the bounds of acceptability. Not beyond your own personal opinion. No researched or internally formed opinion could have lead you to conclude a majority refused to accept his arguments had any validity. Only the right wing media made those claims. Or do you some how confused your own opinions. With reason.

While the government of the UK was in the middle of trying to sign the Irish peace deal. Remember the one that became the good Friday agreement. Yeah guess why the media reinterpreted that situation.
