    We’ll blame both of you.

Though really we wont because we’ll probably be too distracted by all the horrible suffering. Or we’ll be dead.

You could currently group with other like-minded individuals and remove these politicians from office by force and fire, then hold special elections. We are the citizenry, it is our duty to use our population advantage to enforce an ethical government.

And we are failing that duty. Plenty of blame to go around, even some for you and me.

I am not a patriot. I don’t believe in duty. I’m not a saint. I don’t believe in virtue. Duty and virtue are both for stupid people. I am a consequentialist.

I don’t group with people who were content with Trump winning against Harris in any way whatsoever. And I’m not interested in getting people who think like me, people who are actually my allies, killed.

There is no good reason for me to fight in a stupid civil war and get myself or my friends & family killed. To get my actual allies killed by rallying them to fight.

If people who were content with this result, who abstained from voting or voted third party, want to risk their life fruitlessly: they ought to do so and stop telling me I owe them my allegiance to their cause.

You have no moral high ground then, and should stop preaching like you do. And your friends, family, allies are going to die anyway if you do nothing. When they are taken to an ICE concentration camp, I hope you remember your words here, and how you failed them.

People survive fascism plenty. Maybe me and my people will survive, maybe they wont. I certainly would not improve our chances by trying to initiate a violent revolt against the most technologically advanced military on planet earth… even if it is run by incredibly stupid people at the moment.

We’re almost certainly more likely to survive keeping our heads down.

That said, if I or my loved ones end up in death camps, I’ll know exactly who to blame, I also probably wont care anymore though about blame. I’ll probably be pretty preoccupied with emotional devastation.

Fascism doesn’t blow over on it’s own. Never has, never will.

I don’t know if you’re intelligent, but I can tell you’re not wise.

Fascism absolutely eats itself from the inside out over time. That’s why fascism frequently engages in aggressive invasions of neighboring countries to sustain itself where it’d otherwise be completely unsustainable.

That said, this fascism already has a critical weakness to its longevity: Trump is a husk at this point. He had a sentinel event about month and a half ago, it happened on live TV. Sentinel events indicate a significantly increased risk of fatal stroke in the following 4 months.

Even if he survives this period of elevated risk, his time is still likely short. He almost certainly wont finish this term. Let alone get another chance to try for a third term.

What we’ll get after him is a decaying conservative country, severely and brutally damaged by self inflicted wounds that neither party will be able to repair. It will flail at the world and make everything worse for everyone, US or otherwise. Our lives will get worse but Trump’s fascism will die with him. If someone manages to replace him can carry the torch I’ll be very surprised.

We’ll get a blue wave in the next two elections I suspect but democrats will not be able (even if they were overwhelmingly willing) to fully repair the damage done and then the fish brained electorate will let the republicans win again.

Perhaps by then I and whoever I manage to take with me will at least have fled to Canada. I have a lot of saving to do.

Your first line is something we both agree on, though how it eats itself I think we differ. Yes it has to be aggressive, always needing a lightning rod. So either foreign nations, or internal undesirables. However these aggressive actions is why fascism doesn’t just blow over, usually some people step up due to their grievances and put the rabid animals down. And if they don’t, well Russia is a pretty big living example of America’s future if we don’t fight.

On top of which, none of this blows over when Trump dies. He’s a puppet, they’ll just get a new one. Fox news, and the other billionaire owned mainstream media will play them up just like they did with Trump. And MAGA will follow not long after, with possible new recruits since “Trump is no more”. The worst part being is even with our soft and hard power eroded we can still do a lot of damage with the weapons we do have, and it may escalate with the next puppet.

Then of course that’s only focusing myopically on America alone. If we look at the pattern of right winged politics being on the rise in multiple countries including Canada. In fact Alberta is trying to pull a brexit right now, and I have no doubt billionaires are flooding anything tangentially related to Alberta with propaganda to make that happen. Just like they did with the UK. And like they did with our elections.

With all that said, I can’t disagree with a run strategy. I thought your original strategy was to do nothing, which is a dumb way to survive, as you leave everything to chance. However running does two things that I find beneficial, one is survival, the 2nd being getting the fuck out of the way. So please run, and do it quickly. If our current pattern holds, this country will be a giant prison in a short amount of time.

On top of which, none of this blows over when Trump dies.

The damage will remain. But Trump holds the charisma power of his movement. MAGA will continue to exist, sure, but without a unifier and their proclivity for being “anti-establishment” in their aesthetics, they will likely splinter and in-fight.

Neocons will likely regain their footholds along post-trump grifters in the republican party. But they’ll pale in comparison in their political power and influence.

RIghtwing politics in general however will thrive. The institutional capture is very thorough.

getting the fuck out of the way.

Of what? I think you’ll be disappointed at the numbers that join a violent cause in favor of leftism in the US. And those stupid or crazy enough to do so are not going to be the most valuable contingent of individuals.
