Millions of Americans are now eligible for Canadian citizenship by descent, due to a change in Canadian law. And as concerns about President Trump’s second term grow, thousands of Americans are gathering paperwork just in case.

Then what are you saying no thanks to? This is about people becoming Canadian citizens, which you already are.

Well, at least your opinion doesn’t matter. The people that qualify don’t need your approval and are already citizens, they just need to get their document from the government.

Majority of Canadian would disagree, and in a real democracy, the majority opinion matters.

Could you highlight the section of the article where most Canadians don’t support the citizenship by descent law?

In any case, in a democracy, the rule of law should apply. The majority can make the law as they have done, but it shouldn’t apply retroactively. Your Supreme Court has recognized this and your parliament when it made the new law.

Canada’s fertility rate is below replacement level. You’ll need people to move there to keep your economy going and programs funded. The median age is over 40 and keeps increasing too, so not sure what will happen when it gradually approaches 60 over the next 20 years and everyone starts trying to retire with no one to pay for it.

Yeah so? The people moving from US are going to be privileged boomers with money not young people.

It’s an ocean current that brings warm water to Europe and allows for livable weather in higher latitudes. It seems to be about to collapse.
