There was a well established and very simple technology for not blinding other traffic. High beam and low beam, with a manual switch. No myriad of sensors and computers that do a worse job than any driver with just half a brain and some small remainder of decency.

Remember how one of the most prolific examples of fascist rulers came to power. Hitler himself didn’t just grab power. He tried to do so, was convicted and jailed for his attempted coup, wrote a book detailing all of his plans and insane ideology while in jail, was released early, and was subsequently allowed to run for office again. Once his party gained an alarming number of votes, conservatives collaborated with him, thinking they could control him, and made him Chancellor. The rest is history. See any parallels between how the Weimar Republic turned into Nazi Germany and some other country acquiring a fascist ruler in this recent time?
