It goes deeper than that.

AI replaces entry level workers, but AI is less productive than even moderately experienced workers, so it actively harms whatever firms utilize it because they don’t have entry level workers to become experienced. It’s entirely parasitic. AI isn’t good at its job, it’s merely good enough. Replace enough of the economy with “good enough” and suddenly it isn’t good enough anymore.

Why even have another election cycle?

That seems like a poor bait-and-switch.

So, what, the US will announce a strategic investment of a billion dollars in “development” in Israel, and then Israel will just turn around and buy a billion dollars in weapons? People can only be fooled by this trick in its early stages, the moment the switch actually occurs people will just go back to being mad and nothing was fixed. It buys them one election cycle.

Iran has played the US into becoming the sin-eater for the consequences of blocking the Strait.

Kind of what I expected. Iran has all the cards here, and the US was already starting from a poor negotiating position due to Israel’s aggression against Lebanon. Iran agreeing to anything right now would have meant taking a loss for no reason.

traders are assuming that Trump will abandon the conflict before the economic toll of a prolonged war reaches extreme levels.

They don’t seem to realize that Iran gets a vote on when this war ends. They assume that Trump can end this whenever he gets bored, but nothing stops Iran from continuing to hit US+ally assets in the region while continuing to restrain Strait traffic.
