4 days agoI got a pair of Topo running shoes since my Altras kept falling apart too quickly. They have some recycled materials and hopefully last longer.
For casual shoes, I was looking at Nothing New or some other canvas Chuck Taylor type shoe.


I got a pair of Topo running shoes since my Altras kept falling apart too quickly. They have some recycled materials and hopefully last longer.

Sad. They used to lean into being eco conscious and then they pivot to this. They would print the carbon footprint of each shoe and I had one of their lowest at 2.14kg CO2 (they even marketed a carbon neutral shoe. Now they’re going to rent GPUs as a service? When Kodak pivoted to blockchain at least it was somewhat related to photography. This is out of left field.
Could try Origin workwear. Triple stitched, made in the USA. They seem to hold up to regular shop use for woodworking. Others have also recommended them
(Grease Point is the money is no object option, but I don’t have a pair so can’t say if they’re worth it)
