Look who suddenly remembers the First Amendment!! This is the excuse the American Department of Justice gave for not helping:

According to The Wall Street Journal, the Justice Department told French law enforcement authorities that it would not facilitate their efforts to investigate Musk’s X. The newspaper reported that the Justice Department’s Office of International Affairs, in a two-page letter last week, accused the French of inappropriately using its justice system to interfere with an American business.

“This investigation seeks to use the criminal legal system in France to regulate a public square for the free expression of ideas and opinions in a manner contrary to the First Amendment of the United States Constitution,” said the letter quoted by The Wall Street Journal.

“Asked whether Musk would risk sanctions if he skipped the hearing, the Paris prosecutor’s office declined to comment.”

Nuh uh!!! The kids i raised better be ready to lift themselves up by their bootstraps. If they can’t–misery and poverty for the rest of their lives! Mwa ha ha ha!

Seriously though–it really bothers me when i see people saying stuff like “i raised you, i don’t owe you shit”… If you bring someone into this world–you better be ready to take care of em. Even if it means for their entire life! You don’t know what they’ll be like or what needs they may have, so be ready for anything. Hopefully they’ll be able to make a living for themselves but it’s getting harder and harder in this day and age.

I just assume that’s where any money i have left is going to end up. Luckily i don’t have anyone relying on the funds i possessed, but I also don’t expect to have much (if any) anyway. I’m kinda relieved i don’t have children for that reason, tbh. It’s hard enough to make ends meet as it is. As much as i might have enjoyed starting a family, I’m afraid I’d be setting up another generation to suffer through the naivete of mine…then having little/nothing to offer on my way out!

This really is what modern tech essentially does most of the time these days: steals and/or cheats. The tech it produces is to aid in stealing/cheating. I mean, LLMs and image-generating AI were loaded up with stolen content in order to function. I still can’t get over that, yet apparently it’s all good, no laws broken–and has been fine this way for years now. Back in the olden days when i went to school, cheating was a punishable offense. Now it’s proof of how ‘clever’ one is. Fucking bullshit from top to bottom.
