Yeah I can imagine most people would look at you as a degenerate (which you aren’t) if you were to talk about it in person.

Never heard of but will look it up for research purposes.

1·8 days agoI would say I went from pretty right wing to center left. My current stance is more or less you should be able to earn millions (not billions that is just insane, no single person should have that kind of power) but everyone should have the same opportunities and rights.
Yeah, with science it is a similar situation because especially scientific literature gets so complex that most people do not understand it or get bored reading it and just like with politics lived experience can be very different from what scientist are telling you.
I think it helps speaking the language in France, they can to be more nationalistic than Americans.
Never been to Bordeaux so didn’t know about the reputation. As a foreigner I always had the impression in France that the more you go south the nicer they are (my own lived experience, due to circumstances I live in the Occitanie).
So it is a matter of having partners you trust and enjoy being around. Still can’t see myself ever doing it but thanks for explaining why it works for some people.
Ah you discovered the secret. Even among the French, the Parisians have a certain reputation.
Okay, I have only ever been with one partner and always felt way out of my depth soo I can’t really imagine to stress of having to pleasure or getting pleasure of multiple partners.

1·9 days agoThe honest awnser is I do not know. It kinda just happened. One day I just caught myself watching youtubers and reading things that before I would just shun for being too woke (this was before the term became popular back when feminist were the big boogyman) for a lack of a better term.
Maybe it was just a matter of growing up because the depression and loneliness (apparently I am also autistic but I kinda doubt the diagnosis) went away much later.
That is the thing, the old connections were worthless. This was a connection he made after looking for a job for 3 years.
The thing that kept his head above the water were his savings and the European safety net.
My dad had to do it because he was too old at 56 (office job). In 3 years (government support and savings) he could not find anyone who would take him. Eventually he started working small construction jobs (which he enjoys doing) through someone that did work on his house.
So I think there are plenty older people that actually know the difficulty.
Always wondered if men, women, trans (whoever you you want) actually enjoyed doing it, looks like it is more like work than actually enjoying the experience.
Not Greco Roman wrestling?

1·9 days agoFair enough, quibbeling about phrasing also works in their favour.
It just comes out of a place of worry with the increasing divide between men and women.

1·10 days agoI fully agree with you that you need to call out bullshit whenever you see it. My phrase was just hyperbole to emphasise my explenation, not a direct comparison to straight women assualting lgbtq women.
But as someone that got close to falling into the whole early manosphere stuff. My personal experience is that these grifters thrive in the “broken clock is right twice a day” situations because it gives them an air legitimacy.
So although I agree with you in general I do think the way you bring a message can have effects. (Sorry if my way of writing isn’t fully clear English is not my native language).
I remember a lot of them because most were on Fox Kids in the Netherlands but I didn’t have Cartoon Network so I missed some of those shows.
I also remember watching Walking With Dinosaurs as a kid. Than you also had the two Superman shows: Superman The Animated Series and Lois & Clark: The new adventures of Superman.
And as a kid I really enjoyed Star Trek Voyager.

1·12 days agoIf I am not severly mistaken from reading all of this. The point he was trying to make is a phrase like “All men commit sexual assault.” Which can quite easily be disproven will give ammunition to the vile men like Andrew Tate to draw in young men that feel like they are being labeled as a criminal.
Maybe a little skooma could alleviate the pain.
I still remember using lol, especially in speach, being seen as cringe worthy. And as such things happen people start using it ironically until everyone is using it and forgot it started as ironic.

I think police are a necessary evil but that means we need to scrutinise them thouroughly and make radical changes when there are problems.
I still get surprised that, in the US, a police officer only has a few weeks of training. I think most cleaning personel in Europe has a longer training period. Anyone with that much power needs to be vetted and follow a degree so we can be sure of a minimum amount of competency.
