You can just suggest it as an addendum instead of implying that it’s a deliberate omission by starting with “Funny how…”

TIL OF is from the UK

And yet your other comment agrees with my point.
I think the context that you and the original commenter missed is
“near to anything interesting”
What do you think that means in the context of radar? What is radar used to measure?
Living near military installations would be the big exception
It’s like you just want to disagree with me because someone else downvoted me.

Ah yeah you must be right then because a quick web search (in English I assume) didn’t turn up anything about other countries’ counter-terrorist organisations or the fact that radar is used for missile locks for anti-aircraft missiles. Good comment.
The US is not the whole world.

Maybe, but I’m not in the US. The US is not the whole world.

Turn it on in peacetime anywhere near to anything interesting and you’ll get a visit from your local military police.

But do you not see how redundant the construction is in the given examples? You’re right that it has a place, but that place is not literally every paragraph you write.
An LLM doesn’t understand the rules of when certain linguistic constructions enhance the communication of the writing, it just repeats a pattern that existed in the training data in places where it’s not necessary. That’s why it is so jarring and inhuman to read.

There’s a PDF version (344KB) linked from the page so you can read it offline if you don’t want to be connected to a VPN for an extended period.

Did you actually watch the video? She has a whole chapter addressing exactly this.

Ironic that she refers to an article by a substack blogger who discloses in their blog that it’s written by AI. She then thanks her on two occasions for giving her advice on her script.

That’s the excuse they give you. The real reason is that they don’t want employees expressing their personalities or affiliations while representing the company.
it’s not very funny

This doesn’t mean LLMs aren’t useful
This is precisely why LLM’s aren’t useful. Stop apologising to the trillion dollar corporations and their army of AI-brained sycophants just for pointing out the obvious: that the emperor has no clothes.
It’s easy to think it’s telling you useful information when it’s new to you and you don’t know enough to spot the mistakes.
Last time I tried asking an LLM about a command line program it gave me a command line switch that didn’t even exist in that program. When searching for the switch I found that it was for a different program completely.
Personally I would rather just read a book.
I use an eSIM because it’s the only way to have dual lines with my phone. Are there still phones that have 2 physical SIM slots for dual lines?
