32·3 days agoYeah but the food isn’t free. And good luck finding a job, any job basically, in this recession. Can’t blame people choosing the military when the alternative could mean homelessness.

57·3 days agoSold their soul? Not all of them, I bet. With the US economy being in a recession (if you factor out the AI companies which all they do is move money between each other in a circle). There are constantly layoffs and noone is hiring. I can imagine a bunch of people choosing the military so that they can at least pay their bills / debt from college. Having a job in the military beats being homeless, I guess.
It was the previous left wing governments that ruined the country economically and who are responsible for the crazy inflation and corruption, but ok

Boomers with too much time amd money, cos they could afford to retire at 50 and still have enough money to waste on stupid things

Why on earth would anyone be afraid of roundabouts? Like they aren’t even more complicated than traffic lights to understand.
I live and Western Europe, and ai have to wholeheartedly agree with you. I think a lot of people here are really naive, thinking toppling the US government is something you do on a normal tuesday or sth like that. I really feel with Americans who want change, but can’t do much because there are no social safety nets in the US.

Wait you pay that much in taxes in the US? I thought the silver lining of living in the US means lower taxes compared to countries with social security systems and universal healthcare.
