  • It tops on at at so many levels, obviously you don’t doordash to the whitehouse to begin with. Obviously the fact that she’s a regular fox news interviewee, she’s hand picked for their propoganda. The fact that her supposed story an example of the american hellscape nightmare. The fact that trump acted like a $100 tip is a big deal for someone trying to pay off medical bills.

And then to top it off, he tried to get her to talk about his political issues that I guess even she didn’t want to, to focus back on the staged script she wanted to talk on. I want to know who the hell this kind of insanely bad propoganda is for lol.

I mean hell, trump needs to hire like Mr Beast as a PR team. While corrupt as hell, pretty sure for the views he’d go "Well guess what… we’re flying your husband out to the best cancer center in the world and I’m covering the whole treatment!

  • I mean, I have to say, so far in the running she seems to be the one that’s at least trying to gather support from the left of the party, rather than distancing herself as far from us as possible. With the current leaders like Gavin Newsome, who’s desperately trying to throw us under the bus, backing the billionares, and harris who’s feeling that her 2024 failure was because she was too far left.

So yeah she’s a flawed candidate, but so far I haven’t seen a better option yet.

  • Obviously, just pointing out… they literally have designed and are using a tool that has the exact capacities needed to do the unthinkable… IE watch countless hours of CSAM, that would wreck the souls of any human with a heart. identify and footnote every instance of a perpetrators face being revealed, identify and log the exact timestamp of each identifying frames.

We know they won’t use it for this… but the irony of knowing they have the technology that has this exact capability, and are only using it to go after people that more or less have not victimized anyone is so disheartening.

It’s like if they invented a small portable cheap device that could create safe drinking water wherever you need it, and their only thought was “hey we can use this to waterboard people”.

  • I mean I agree… it’s kind of the constant crux isn’t it?

The IT nerds pick a protocol that’s uncontrolled, you need to select options and servers, because… well obviously that’s kind of the definition of uncontrolled.

Some big name with big VC backing makes a big platform, makes it simple as possible, no choices, no control but good defaults. Average joes all flock there, build huge communities, users happy. Obviously the bulk of the creative types, celebrities etc… that most people care about flock there.

Big corp or VCs start demanding more monetization, or political censorship, or whatever kind of enshittification they inevitably always will. Users complain, but it all continues to amplify… open communities announce “hey we’ve got our alternative here”, they say “thanks but nah that’s too complicated, and you don’t have the users that I want to see anyway”. People complain more… and either adapt and accept the enshitification as normal… or maybe another big VC backed individual or other corp opens an alternative and pulls off the impossible critical mass goal, and process repeats.

I don’t really know the solution, just know the pattern. Bluesky is IMO the new twitter… fundimentally I don’t see it as super different than the old twitter. Only way I really see everything working is if say… a corporate backed giant actually played nicely and allowed interoperability with a federated protocol that’s actually… well hostable.

It’s basically like exactly what happens out in the real world… walmart comes offers better convenience and lower prices than local competitors… local economy adapts to walmart, individual stores shut down… half of owners, etc… forced to working for walmart for garbage pay.
