  • I have found the large 4-cup moka pot to be very efficient for camping coffee, particularly if you also have a kettle on the griddle with hot/near-boilng water for refills. Or in the campfire. I use an aluminum calphalon non-whistle teapot for that.

With a good single-burner (butane/propane or white gas) it becomes reasonable to crank out good coffee for 2-3 people at a time (1.5 to 2 cup) on a ~6 minute cycle.

Uhh maybe my use case is atypical, but still. Moka-pot is good for camping cuz it’s fast, easy-clean and can produce great results.

  • I would still vote for Bernie

The only thing against his is his age. The negative about age is it’s effect on cognitive function. Bernie, so far as I know, isn’t showing any real signs of cognitive dysfunction.

If there’s ANY person who could grasp the reigns of the “unitary executive theory” of the Presidency, use that authority with great authoritarian zeal to IMPROVE the system and to REMOVE the vastly expanded Executive power that has gradually crept to levels unimaginable to past generations, and then DROP the reigns of power…

    It would be Bernie Sanders.

What could an unleashed Bernie accomplish in one term, knowing he was not running for re-election. That administration could come out swinging and never stop.

I firmly believe that Bernie would have won against Trump all three times.

And I’ve got a feeling his VP choice would have been a lot better than Biden’s, and a lot more effective at positioning that person to also win.

  • Unfortunately I believe this is true.

That campaign promise, combined with Biden’s ego forcing/allowing him to press on beyond his capacity, put the Dems in a very bad position.

If Joe Biden had been strong enough to commit and stick to a single term, they could have cultivated and promoted a much better ticket.

It would probably still have resulted in Harris being the nominee, which was the point of that campaign promise.

But at least it wouldn’t have been the shit show we saw. Maybe she could have gathered the courage to have some differing positions from Biden/DNC

  • Somewhat like it, but with different operational goals.

FreeBSD focuses on wide hardware compatibility and very high speed.

OpenBSD focuses on security, exclusively. It’s slower and with a narrower range of supported hardware, but a MUCH higher effort in security, assurance and audit.

So, the fact that some bugs have been found in FreeBSD is more or less irrelevant to the security of OpenBSD

You may not be aware, but find it interesting that MacOS is also a BSD variant, and there was a distro called NetBSD which was (is?) focused on what you’d expect from the name of it.

Another thing you might not know is that the OpenBSD folks also publish OpenSSH which is a very well regarded and widely used package.

Of course all software is subject to bugs/error/vulnerabilities and OpenSSH as well as OpenBSD are constantly being reviewed, revised and audited for potential security issues.
