5 days agoFloppies are particularly vulnerable to decay from my understanding.
I found a box of 8-12 disks a few years ago and exactly none of them were readable. That’s probably bad luck but…

36·8 days agoIt’s like a core belief of conservatism. Being criticized for being evil is somehow a worse fate than being a victim of evil. Because:
- They lack empathy and can only understand the problems they themselves experience.
- They’re soft as baby shit, so they whine about the most minor setbacks.
20·12 days agoIt’s not ridiculous, but it’s not a slam dunk either, I think.
The average gamer isn’t necessarily good at playing them. I would even say the majority. There’s a chasm of difference between a pro-level StarCraft player and some dude who hops on Warzone with his drinking buddies every few nights.
At the end of the day all this is is a semi-desperate HR stunt to try and get bodies into our massively overtaxed towers.

1·17 days agoI think we’ve more or less found the ceiling of how successful a game can be with things like Fortnite, and all this industry tumult is the result of C-suites trying to break that ceiling by overextending with tons of money.
Battlefield 6 wanted 100 million players, which is insane. They wanted that because they threw 500 million dollars at the project which is also insane.

I think it’s notable that like four or five of the points are just different ways of saying “The public is so mean to us! We should be allowed a few racist gestures and sexual assaults, as a treat! Nobody’s perfect!”
