That’s great! Someone legally has to show his best chance at defending himself for the process to be fair. If that is their best defense, great news, he’s fucked.
FAS might be able to convince jury to lower sentences, im not so sure about autism. because FAS of various degrees can significantly affect cognitive function, or intelligence.
Their fucking defense attorney is claiming he’s less culpable due to autism and fetal alcohol syndrome

If he actually has FAS that could reduce his culpability, as he likely has a lower IQ and significantly impaired judgement and impulse control.
I don’t see how autism would factor in.
