Dude, I hope you realize the insane amount of privilege you have by being able to chose not to be bothered. I have a list of counties near me which I should avoid in order not to be disappeared, by ICE, DHS. I have to monitor their activities to makes sure I do not disappear. Even then I work with a couple mutual aids and anti war orgs to feed unhoused in my area and push AIPAC out of the local politicians. And if I sound not OK, imagine spending years getting a panic attack every time I see a vehicle that resembles a law enforcement. The only reason I have hope is because I know people who actually are doing stuff. I had friends who regularly go around hotels and scan license plates to see if ICE is there. I have friends who offered me their house to hide if I need to.
Maybe you did not mean it that way, but it sounds like a German citizen in 1930s saying “I don’t like it, but it does not affect me, so who cares, not my problem, no point getting upset”.
Of course I am pissed at this lesserevilism, because it led to here, and I have no doubt that electing another milk toast democrat will not fix it, they will just keep mass deportations, just make them less visible. because mass deportations and family separation was only wrong when Trump did it, not when Biden kept doing family separations. Same with BLM and defund the police, absolutely no democrat defunded the police. Same with war crimes overseas. Same with healthcare, Biden’s biggest healthcare achievement was limit a couple medications to only 10x their actual price rather than 100x their actual price, instead of systemic changes like Medicare for all.
And you seem to excuse Biden and Obama, just because Trump is worse, it does not exonerate they are also responsible. We should stop treating politics like a race to the bottom.
