I liked my body a lot more when I was going to the gym vs any of the times before or after. I knew I was weak before, though that first session really drove home just how weak I was, but then it improved in leaps and bounds at the start, so it was pretty easy to be happy with it.
Probably helps that I never really built a habit of comparing myself to others and would just compare my current self to previous selves.
