Two proposals—one in California, one in Congress—could finally do it. The alternative is an ever-more-powerful billionaire class that threatens democracy itself.
CA billionaires are racing to pass a constitutional amendment to block a proposed tax on those with over a billion dollars. They’re spending an absolutely massive amount of money for a constant barrage of calls, texts and mailings.
It’s being sold as protection for the average person’s retirement accounts and savings, but that’s absolute bullshit. The proposed tax has no impact on anyone except the obscenely wealthy and there’s nothing even being suggested that would impact anyone with less than $50 million.
Billionaires have essentially unlimited budgets for propaganda and what I’ve seen is so effective I expect it to pass.
