In a Republican-dominated district, voters narrowly upheld a ban on utility scale renewables in most of the county in a 53% to 47% vote. A referendum backer called the result disappointing, yet ‘telling.’

They have a point. What if somebody built a utility-scale solar installation near a town, and there was an accident that resulted in a massive solar energy spill? It would result in everybody having a nice, sunny day!

Republicans hate anybody having nice things.

These rural Ohio counties keep rejecting the future then we have no obligation towards them for any support. They can lose their roads and water pipes and whatnot I don’t care

They’re going ape shit building solar to power Data Centers which will in turn cause water shortages, noise issues in the communities, heat islands, and basically take your white collar job. I am not a tinfoil wearing maga, I actually am in solar finance! Solar being built now is not going to help us reach net zero, it will NOT decrease utility bills. We need to a moratorium on all development to be honest beucase it is like a runaway train.

One would think, but they are are tied together in such a away the one begets the other until we can do a total ban on data centers. We need to demand net zero, not powering the tech bros AI.

            Quit your bullshit.

Are you really trying to claim it’s impossible to build solar power without also building datacenters? That the only way to stop datacenters is to ban solar power? (And you really think banning solar will slow down the datacenters even slightly?) Fuck off.
