TIL sardines don’t exist:
Sardine and pilchard are common names for various species of small, oily forage fish in the herring suborder Clupeoidei.
If you ever get a chance to see the Sardine Rotunda at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, do it. Not only is the aquarium a monument to aquatic conservation, the rotunda is one of the most beautiful pieces of architecture to ever exist. It’s like standing in the eye of a sardine hurricane.

Neat! I didn’t know that thanks for teaching me a thing!
Sardine is a preparation, not a species.
Understood.
Search “sardine” and “Monterey bay” and you’ll see a Clupeidae doughnut racetrack of Herring swimming fast as fuck endlessly to push water across their gills to oxygenate their blood… is a lot.
I’m just trying to make the search easy.
