It gets worse because we also use metric depending on what it’s used in, such as bicycles. As an American I really just wish we’d ditch the us measurement system in general, but especially when it comes to parts.
Eh, I’m an Australian who works with old British machinery, so I’m used to thinking in Imperial too. You’ll never get away from it, not in our lifetimes.
